The combined CommuniCast 2015 & MyanmarInternational ICT Exhibitions offers proven solutions to boost Myanmar’s digital economy

More than 120 companies on show to create one event for Myanmar’s fast growing ICT economy

26 October 2015 –CommuniCast 2015, which is co-locating with the International Myanmar ICT Exhibition for the first time, emphasises the demand for a professional platform for Myanmar’s emerging and fast-developing ICT industry. The combination of events ,to be hosted from 17-19 November 2015 at Myanmar Event Park, Yangon, provides the opportunity for the full spectrum of the ICT economy to be under one roof, from satellite and broadband through to mobile and enterprise solutions. The CommuniCast Myanmar show also incorporates the Myanmar Satellite Forum.

More than 120 companies from 22 countries are lined up to participate, including two pavilions from Singapore and groups from India, Ontario (Canada) and Thailand. More than 3000 professional visitors are expected to attend. The International Myanmar ICT Exhibition is historically organised by the Myanmar Computer Federation; lead Gold sponsor for the 2015 show is Gandamar, showing complete office solutions.

President of the Myanmar Computer Federation, U Khun Oo said: “We are delighted to have joined forces with the organisers of CommuniCast Myanmar to work together on one annual international event, to project Myanmar’s fast evolving ICT industry in a professional exhibition environment and to help match international companies with local partners to accelerate growth. ICT is at the very heart of the economy and offers opportunities across all sectors.”

The focus of the event, with the theme, ’Opportunity driven by Connectivity’, is primarily on satellite and broadband technologies, mobile infrastructure buildout and mobile & enterprise solutions. With the tele-density of the country targeted to reach 75% by the end of the 2015/2016 financial year, the opportunities for suppliers to the industry are bright, especially since the ISP, broadband, mobile and banking markets have opened up. The broadcasting market can be expected to flourish in 2016.

The Myanmar Computer Federation is at the forefront in emphasising the development of Myanmar as a software development hub; its members are also well positioned to join forces with international partners to bring the latest technologies to the country. The opportunity to discuss priorities for Myanmar will be debated at the ICT Live! Forums to be hosted during the exhibitions.

The second Myanmar Satellite Forum will be held on 18 November 2015 and has a record number of sponsors, led by Platinum sponsors Speedcast, ABS and Asiasat. With the impending launch of new satellite services serving multiple sectors Myanmar is well positioned to deliver a host of new services on a countrywide basis.

The CommuniCast Myanmar show is supported by both the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Information.
